The built-in Decent coffee profiles in our app put precise control over pressure, flow rate, temperature, phase time and more right at your fingertips. As your skills grow, you can unlock countless possibilities with just one bean type. To begin, simply select a profile from our extensive library or create your own from scratch.
Our editor is highly flexible. You can start with simple flow or pressure profiles, or switch between the two in our advanced editor. Add new phases such as preinfusion, then advance to the next phase when the brew reaches a specific time, pressure, or flow rate. You can also set an individual target temperature, flow, and pressure goal for each phase.
Our precise sensors track pressure and temperature in real time, feeding instant data back to the machine so it adjusts and follows your profile accurately.
Profiles are usually designed with a specific purpose in mind — for instance, to work with different roast levels. Light roast coffee usually doesn't absorb water well, and extracting at 9 bars could lead to a sour espresso. Some profiles therefore adopt different techniques, such as unpressurized pre-infusion and a longer contact time, to resolve this. Darker roasts, on the other hand, absorb more water, so our profiles offer a different set of techniques to limit the chance of over-extraction.
Profiling can also give you wonderful freedom to make espresso in fun and exciting ways. For example, if you prefer a longer, more aromatic shot, Allongé is a great option. For a sweet shot focusing on flavors, try Extractamundo Dos — though expect a lower body.
This video walks you through how to edit these profiles, as well as giving other useful information on using the app.
With extensions enabled, your shot history can be found online on our website or on Visualizer.
You can also set up your shot descriptions to include bean and other information.
For DE1app, profiles are saved locally on the device. On the tablet, open the "File Manager +" app, go to "main storage," open the "de1plus" folder, then open "profiles." Profiles are saved here as TCL files, and you can copy them into and out of the folder.
The "profiles" folder is for TCL files only. If you want to install JSON files, save those to the "profiles_v2" folder under "de1plus".
To share Decaid profiles, browse the profile selection page and long-press the profile name on the left. Press the share button, and it will generate a QR code and a link for sharing. The QR code or the link will bring you to a download page with options to "Send to Decaid on this Device" or "Download profile (.json)".
To install TCL/JSON profiles on the Decaid Streamline interface, go to the profile selection page, press "+" in the top left corner to add a new profile, go to the "Settings" page, then press "Upload Local Files".
